The Roofing & Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Georgia, Inc. is made up of over 150 roofing contractors and suppliers of roofing related materials.

The association conducts annual conventions, and education programs for members and others, such as architects and owners.

Training programs for roofing contractors on systems installation, safety, business management, etc., are conducted on a regular basis.

Some pre-packaged training materials are available to members on topics including asbestos roofing removal and renovation, commercial and residential roofing systems installation - including built-up roofing, single ply systems, asphalt shingles, and metal roofing.

The association has a licensing program for roofing contractors which is being specified by architects, school boards, etc. The licensing program is essentially a "pre-qualification" program since a participant must provide proof of being a legitimate business, provide proof of insurance and a principle in the company must pass a comprehensive written examination covering all aspects of roofing and general business management, including safety and loss control.
